SKAGEN: Scandinavia Part Five
The most northerly point of Denmark, the place two seas meet and the home of some of my favourite watches: Skagen.
Skagen (pronounced Skayne) did not disappoint with its beauty either as we drove through the town and saw the pretty architecture and quaint buildings nor as we walked across the dunes to the very tip of the land. How wonderful to see the hand of God in the beauty of the earth He made!
Back at the base we had been in a prayer meeting where a prophetic word had been given about the bride rising up in purity and holiness and moving from the north toward the south throughout the country bringing the presence of God and revelation of Him and His Kingdom. We felt to take the sheet that had been seen in the word, to anoint that northern place and to symbolically start a fire in that place that would travel south. So right there, on the northernmost tip of the country we called in God's plans and purposes for Denmark, said 'yes' to the coming revival and prayed prayers of blessing over the land, the people, the church, the yet-to-be-saved and the work God is going to do there.
There's a beauty in the barreness of the dunes. It's hard to imagine that wasn't the sight that greeted armies as they landed on those shores, and the WWII bunkers (even when vandalised by people with a sense of humour) are a reminder that peace is fragile, that power is dangerous in the hands of the unrighteous and that we need to be constantly in prayer for the nations and their leaders.
