WONDERFUL COPENHAGEN: Scandinavia Part Eight

Well if you're going to have your photoo taken with a famous landmark (however small she is - yes Erick, you were right!), you may as well be WITH the famous landmark!

Copenhagen was cold and grey but beautiful none-the-less and I loved my tourist day in the capital!

The idea came about because Mati and Julie needed a ride to the airport and we needed no excuse to hang out in a place with great architecture and food! It was an early start and a late night (when we got back we ended up praying and prophesying over the team running the YWAM Denmark family camps) but a lovely day getting to know the city - and each other - a little better.

For those visiting Copenhagen, I recommend the Round Tower.

At only 25Kr it's a bargain as well as the opportunity to work off some of the Danish Pastries the country is famous for! It has historical displays as well as a gallery and great views over the city. For those worried about the climb, it's a ramp not stairs (until almost at the top) so it's easier than most towers I've visited!

Go!

My most profound moment of the day was definitely standing outside this synagogue; the site of an anti-semitic fatal shooting only weeks before. The police guards, flowers and pictures by children spoke of a nation distressed that such a thing happened there and determined that it shouldn't happen again. How poignant to stand in that place and pray that the love God has for Israel would grow in the hearts of people round the world.

And now for a few tourist snaps.....
